Opened in July 2010, the HI-Whistler hostel is a purpose-built hostel that was originally used as part of the Whistler Athletes’ Village during the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. This brand new facility sets the standard in hostelling with all the amenities you’d expect and then some.
There’s more to HI-Whistler than just a place to sleep. Grab a coffee, a snack, a meal and a beer at Cheaky’s Cafe in the hostel lobby. Lounge on the outdoor decks with mountain views. Store your bike in the equipment storage room with bike hooks and bike washing facilities. Hang out in the media room with its 52″ HDTV and shoot some pool in the games room.
Multi-share rooms contain 2 bunk beds accommodating 4 people per room. There are shared bathrooms for every two multi-share rooms. The hostel is very clean, and supplies all bedding, linens and towels.
The hostel is located 7 km south of Whistler. There is public transit directly outside the hostel door that will take you straight to Whistler Village. Buses return as late as 3 am! For bike enthusiasts, you can ride a trail directly from the hostel to the village.
